Antisemitism continues in Britain with the torching of four Jewish owned charity ambulances which were parked outside a synagogue in North London in the Jewish area in Golders Green, a short walk from Finchley. This is a direct attack on Jews in Britain. Three firebombers wearing hoods were caught on camera going to the ambulances with a can of accelerant. Oxygen canisters exploded and windows were blown out of the synagogue. It is being treated as an antisemitic hate crime and being investigated by the police counter-terrorism squad and the British Intelligence Service.
This appears to the an Iranian linked incident in North London.
An Iranian group has claimed responsibility for the Golders Green attack.
There is a significant rise in antisemitism in Britain and it is clear that Jews in Britain are not safe. It is not widely talked about but there are spies on the Jewish communities in Britain and the incidents are growing. Fortunately no lives were lost this time. Two were killed in an attack on a Manchester synagogue in October.
There are still those who deny there is anything wrong with Britain and what a quiet and peaceful place it is. It is anything but.
The British Government at the behest of Wes Streeting, Health Minister, has stepped in to buy replacement ambulances for the charity and to cover their work until the replacements are delivered. Reading the words of Wes Streeting yesterday makes me believe he has a more profound understanding of the seriousness of antisemitism in Britain than Keir Starmer, our Prime Minister, or the London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, do.
This is being covered in the media here, like several other cases in Europe. In my opinion, the violence will not stop just at the borders of anti-Semitism, the goal is to take over larger parts of the world and dominate the worldview, and this will happen if people continue to ignore what is happening to us here and in the world.
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot of denial of antisemitism in Britain as you are aware I am sure from reading blogs. There is a lot of denial of any problems whatsoever in Britain. Blogs are but a tiny drop in the ocean but they give some indicator of the denial that exists. There is a lack of understanding of the seriousness of chants of the phrase "globalise the intifada" as we have had in London and what it means. I have read reports of "there is nothing wrong in Britain" and "there is nothing wrong in northern Britain" written only a few days after the Manchester synagogue murders. and a total denial of any terrorist attacks in Britain at all. It comes from a mainly left wing quarter who are immovable.
DeleteIt's like you read my mind, Rachel. I was also thinking about Blogland when I wrote my comment, I wrote and deleted it because I don't want to be the one saying things. But Blogland is a mirror image of the world. Ignoring such issues says something about the world.It's good that there are people like you, it's a shame there are so few of them.
