Now that the Archbishop has discovered that the Muslim cleric, who is named Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi, praised Bin Laden and had given high honours to Al Qaeda chief in Pakistan she has withdrawn the award in Canterbury.
Her office of administrators advising along the lines of advice they have given to Archbishops over the years like to hide up parents letters when they knowingly on fact accuse bishops and priests of abuse (Bishop Ball and Archbishop George Carey, remember?) did not do their homework on the Pakistani cleric.
He called Hamas and their massacre of Israelis on October 7th "freedom fighters" and congratulated them. He supports the Pakistani blashphemy laws, death for critics of Islam. So much for interface goodness. What place has he got in this country? Who gave the slightest thought to this man being with our Archbishop of Canterbury and receiving an award? She wants to be like the on-stage rappers and the tik tok and the liberal lefties no doubt. Embracing modern day insults to the British people. What of the ordinary people in this country? What has happened to our church? It is little wonder that congregations are small, collection plates are diminishing all the time, and the Christians of Africa are disconnecting with Canterbury. What of Nigeria, what must the bishops there think of the Church in England? Does the Archbishop even know of the splits in Nigeria and the fear of Al Queda?
Award now withdrawn but the damage was done. What a useless person with her staff and her loose views when the church needs to be pulling together the prayers for each of us, individuals and the sermons to give meaning and taken from the scriptures of old with good messages for the flock where the flock can learn of 40 days and 40 nights, and water into wine, not bended knees for murderers and terrorists.
I have written about the same event myself today. An absolute disgrace; the church should know better!

Ignoring the British people and values of the Church of England and standing there with repressed women and a Muslim cleric who expresses the embracing of hate, terrorism and murder and presenting him with an award for goodness in faith. What a disgrace and what an insult to British people. Thank goodness for those who took the trouble to research and tell her the work of the cleric that the Palace of Lambeth should have done for themselves.
DeleteI feel it is not Christian of me to badmouth the woman but she does have a they/them vibe about her. I would rather have a man as Archbishop as well. We really do need strong leaders who live up to their faith. She seems so weak and easily swayed. Apparently she was a Nurse in the NHS for 35 years. Another establishment that has been indoctrinated, in my opinion. Have a good evening Rachel. x
ReplyDeleteLook at Carey, hiding the letters from parents that said their children were being abused by Bishop Ball - naked to receive sacraments - how could Carey live with himself hiding this from the police? He continues to this day in the House of Lords. Then Welby soon after taking office again hides evidence from the police of a serial child abuser. Then we have a continuance of political preaching from the present incumbent who would join with a muslim cleric about which she appeared to know nothing. The Church of Nigeria were right from the beginning to question her suitability for the role. . How can a nurse of 35 years be eligible for the role of the Archbishop of Canterbury when there are many who have served the church for decades in the tradition of the Church of England? ReplyDeleteI have reservations about organized religions, my brother and sister are practising methodists and there families are very involved in the life of the church and live according to their beliefs. My niece trained at a methodist college and as a preacher.
She married a muslim.
It seems to work .
The daughters are methodist. as you can imagine family gatherings are interesting, different religions, different nationalities. no one interferes with any one else and the differences are respected.
I think it is how things should be.

Yes indeed. However a Muslim cleric standing in Lambeth Palace who lauded Bin Laden and later October 7 murders and savagery of Jews and supports death to those who criticise Islam and then being awarded and lauded himself takes the biscuit.
