The cats have their own jigsaw puzzles to play with whilst I do mine.  This keeps them out of the box of pieces that I am actually working on.  Jigsaw puzzle boxes containing jigsaw pieces are their favourite sleeping places.  Many years ago P suggested I give then a box so that they would stop annoying me with mine.  It works to a point although the jigsaw I am working on often becomes the more attractive option to White Bib.  Thomas is sitting on his own in his box.   The ones I give to the cats are jigsaws from the charity shop and one in particular I hated because it turned out to be a vast horizontal pictorial view of Venice which was mostly sky.  I didn't finish it.   I learned a lesson never to buy one of these pictorial  jigsaws again. Extra wide and not deep.   I happily donated it to Thomas.  The other one is a snow scene with steam train which was in the charity shop Christmas display and not a great pleasure to do so that got donated when finished to White Bib.  They are my only two cats now, Skinny and Fire Cat both died a couple of years ago.  Thomas and White Bib carry on.

Yesterday I had a lovely day at the WI 90th birthday party.  It was held in the town hall and the committee put on a lovely lunch for us all and 50 members attended.  Senior WI dignitaries attended from the regional office.  Much fun was had by all.  I sat with people I had not known closely before - we were each given a seat number and sat where we were given which was a good way of mixing people around - and I met some interesting and chatty people I had not spoken to before.

On arrival home I discovered the wood delivery man was here and delivering my winter logs which I failed to order in the summer.  So the timing of arrival home was good as I always like to see him and tip him for placing the logs in my garage. He said he had left me a message that he was coming but there were no messages on my answerphone. I think maybe if it was during the storms and power failures perhaps the message was never recorded.

Beautiful day all round, weather for getting the washing dry was perfect, excellent time out with friends at the WI and the log delivery.   Once I had settled down back home I did my exercises outside in the late afternoon sunshine to round off the day.

I then saw on my newsy phone that all football matches had been called off in Spain last night. On checking why I discovered the train crash and was deeply saddened.  Another terrible crash in Spain with loss of lives.  We always think of train travel as safe and wonderful trains particularly in Spain. As with many train crashes I think that human error is the probable cause.  We can avoid placing ourselves in dangerous situations but human error is something we can do nothing about. .
