 First day of holiday, the  British father, bank official, is in jail in Cyprus for sitting his son on a hotel  windowsill for a few seconds and didn't see the window was open and the son falls out to his death.  The British Embassy have not visited him or his wife. He has a solicitor.   He is distraught in jail. Of course. The son's body is prepared to be flown back to England.   The prosecutor in Cyprus holds on to the man so that he can see "toxicology" reports.  He was on his way down to dinner with son and father-in-law.  Wife and daughter were to follow in a few moments, which they did to find the scene of tragedy.   Sitting the child on the windowsill by an open window is possibly to be judged as neglect.  The man is not a criminal.  The British High Commissioner is on leave. 

Oxfordshire village of less than 400 people, Piddington, prepare to fight the acceptance of 1200 asylum seekers in an abandoned Defence storage facility.  There are no facilities for 1200 asylum seekers in Piddington, nowhere for them to wander except in country lanes to look, feel and be like fish out of water with nothing.    The asylum system in England did not consult with the local councils, voices of the community, no permission is needed, no discussion.   The Home Office do this.  Piddington are seeking to become a independent state of Britain.

England finally find passion on the pitch, well for a while.  Nice to know they do know what passion is and share it with the fans although it was too easy for France in the second half when it turned wrong for England. But they did win.    Good of Anthony Barry to tell us they have been such a passionate and close group throughout the tournament as we would not have known until the play off last night where they beat France 6-4.  As for the commentators saying that this was not real football, I don't know what planet they are on.  Simple football fans like me call this real football, the kind that we normally only see from teams like Croatia or South Korea or Cape Verde and Spain or France in last night's second half quality superb but not England's normality.  Beautiful goal from Jude Bellingham, my man of England in the World Cup.   It will cover the cracks for Tuchel but he will have some work to do before the next game for England which is against Spain in the National League in September.   

Meanwhile child rape ringleader released from prison, Shabir Ahmed, is in, or was in, a sex offenders midway house in Accrington, in the middle of the area where he arranged for the schoolgirls to be fed, drugged and raped and many still live nearby as young women now; he cannot be deported.  He has now disappeared, whereabouts not known.  Contemptuous of the judge in court at his trial, saw nothing wrong in what the gang did, and remained so in prison.  Now out there somewhere.  Unchanged.
