Stage 4 all change

The Carcassonne stage was won by Mads Pederson and it was a race for the breakaway group.  It was expected to be thus.  Very hot and the group of 34 were in the breakaway 145 kms from home.    So the race was a long one of the breakaway and the rest followed 3 minutes behind who let the gap get bigger and bigger.   Foix breakaway victories are a habit.   

 The stage changed the GC and we have a new race leader, the yellow jersey is out on loan for a few days!    The placings tonight are :

2. Quinn  13 03 14   +28

3. Vacek  13 03 36  + 3.50

4. Pogacar 13 10 39 + 7.53

5. Vingegaard 13 10 39 +7.53

6. Debruyne 13 10 52  + 8.06

7. Evenepoel  13.11.02  +8.16

8.  Del Toro 13.11.03 + 8.17

9. Ayuso  13.11.06  + 8.20 

10. Seixas  13.11.27  +8.41

Stage 5 is flat and is Lannemezan to Pau 158.3 km .    A sprinters day. 

I didn't watch it today and can only give information from the highlights tonight.
